The RACE Committee is proud to welcome the newest member of the KYC fleet – our new (to us) committee boat

OBSERVER II

She’s over at Pedersen’s – and needs your help. We need some help in getting her tuned up for service, and getting required and useful equipment set up.

RACING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday Night Racing & the Dock -

EARLY SEASON RACING RE-SCHEDULED

1. Weds night racing will begin once we have a dock, & launch service, and at least three boats in each fleet. While we may have a dock this weekend, I don't see Pedersens (or Morgan, or even Lockwood) getting everyone launched on Tues and weds, so this weds is probably off.

Manda & the Bar team are signed up to do dinner - so if there's no race, and Manda's still willing to cook, we may have a work party (on the boat, to complete book production, set up marks...)

2. Guv'nors Race 1 is rescheduled from June 1 until the following Saturday, June 8.

3. The Old Orchard Race is postponed until further notice.

Again, I'd ask folks to please let me know their plans, so that scheduling announcements can be made in a reasonable time.

These schedule change may be further adjusted based on the folllowing conditions:

1. Completion of the Dock and/or availability of launch service

2. At least THREE boats in both fleets..

Pre-Season Skippers Meeting -

if you were unable to attend the ...

Pre-Season Skippers Meeting

Wednesday May 15 19:00h

here's what you missed!

1. Schedule
  • Since it is unlikely we'll have a dock - and even if we do, not much of a fleet, the first Wednesday Race is OFFICIALLY re-scheduled for WEDNESDAY MAY 29 (assuming we have a dock and a fleet).
  • The first Guv'nor's series race remains scheduled for SATURDAY, JUNE 1, and we are looking at options for the Old Orchard Race (currently scheduled for SUNDAY MAY 26).
  • If it does not seem that we'll have at least three boats in each fleet, we may delay further.
2. Signup Sheet
  • The signup sheet for Wednesday dinner & Race Commitee slots has been posted on the Race board.
  • Please note that there are THREE columns.  We have always specified that all racers are expected to be able to provide a boat for on-water Race duty once a season, however we have only had to make a rare call for one.
  • We have a new committee boat this season, and want to emphasize that you must sign up for ALL THREE columns!
3. New Committee Boat
  • The new committee boat is at Pedersens, and needs many tasks, small & large. There are some repairs needed, but most tasks are normal maintenance issues, or setup tasks to make the boat useful for Race Committee work.
  • A task list will be on the boat, and on the web
4. PHRF certificates
  • PHRF-MA certificates are not being issued by US Sailing.  If you have not gotten your 2013 certificate, please see the details instructions on the PHRF-MA site.
  • If you had a certificate last year, you should have received an e-mail from US Sailing last week.
  • If you have already renewed - please log in to US Sailing and double check.  There seem to have been some burps in the transfer process.  Links for both PHRF-MA and US Sailing are below.
5. The Book
You can get the complete book by clicking on the fleet below.
Thanks to Wayne & Audrey for the fish!
